Frequently asked questions

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to answer many questions from class participants. I’ve listed the most frequently asked questions here for you. If your question isn’t included, feel free to send me an email or a message via the contact form—I’ll be happy to help!

Outfit and equiment

What should I wear?

What should I wear during a session?

Wear whatever feels comfortable for you! Loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely, and is soft and stretchy, works best for yoga. It’s helpful to wear layers so you can take something off if you get warm and move more easily during the class. Leave valuable items at home. For the relaxation at the end of the session, an extra sweater and warm socks are often nice to have.

Try not to eat or drink too much before the class.

Do I need to wear sports shoes?

You take off your shoes upon arrival. During the class, you practice barefoot or in socks. If you need special footwear due to an injury or condition, you may wear sports shoes (that are not worn outside).

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

My goal is for you to feel warmly welcomed from the moment you arrive. All necessary materials are available in the Yoga Room, such as yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, cushions, blankets, and straps. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own equipment for hygienic or personal reasons.

Please do bring a large towel or sheet, and optionally a bottle of water.

Should I bring a water bottle?

You are free to bring a water bottle, but it’s not necessary. After the class, you can enjoy a cup of tea.

Yoga

I’ve never done yoga before, can I join?

No experience is needed to join a yoga class! The classes are accessible to everyone, regardless of age, flexibility, physical limitations, or stress-related complaints. The small group setting and personal approach ensure that everyone can participate at their own level.

What if I’m very stiff?

Perfect! The Yoga Room supports you with blocks, blankets, bolsters, cushions, and any other tools you need to feel comfortable enough to relax in a pose.

I’m pregnant, can I join?

If you have never practiced yoga before, I recommend joining a specialized pregnancy yoga class at a studio that focuses on this. It’s often more comfortable to practice alongside other pregnant participants.

If you already have yoga experience, you are welcome to join my classes. I will adapt the session to your needs.
Please make sure to let me know in advance that you are pregnant.

What type of yoga is offered?

On our home page, you can read all about the type of yoga I offer.

I don’t understand a pose or want to ask a personal question—can I?

You are always welcome to ask questions during, before, or after class—even on days when you’re not attending a session. You’re always welcome, whatever your question may be. Often I can guide you with some additional information, and if needed, we can explore the option of a Self Love Yoga (private) session.

Participation

How can I reach the Yoga Room?

For those coming by bike, there is plenty of space to park on the right side of the building. For cars, there are ample parking spaces along the road in front of the building. In both cases, you won’t have to walk far.

What time should I arrive?

Arriving 5 minutes before the start of the class is more than enough, as everything will already be prepared for you.

How long does a class last?

A class lasts one hour or 75 minutes (as indicated in the schedule).
It’s nice to arrive on time so you can calmly gather your things and settle onto your mat. After the class, you can relax with a cup of tea.
An online class lasts one hour.

How do I book a class?

You can reserve your spot via WhatsApp. A few days in advance, I send a poll in the group chat where you can indicate whether you’ll join on your preferred day.
Interested in a trial class? Send me a message via WhatsApp!

What if I can’t attend or go on vacation?

You can cancel or reschedule your class up to 4 hours in advance via WhatsApp.
If you’re going on vacation, simply notify me. You can also join online yoga classes while you’re away.

Am I tied to a subscription?

Good news: you are not tied to a subscription! You can pay per class or per month in advance—no obligations.

I want to join an online class—how does it work?

You can join the online classes via Zoom. The class is streamed live from the Yoga Room and combined with participants in the studio.
Let me know via email or WhatsApp if you’d like to join online, and I’ll send you the Zoom link.

How big are the groups?

Classes usually have between 4 and a maximum of 10 participants.
